                                              Fast and reliable roof reinforcement with guaranteed mechanical properties
                                              
                            
                                              The reinforcement with ERB arrests crack formation and propagation. Reinforcing occurs by expanding i.e. hydroforming the bolt in the drilled hole with high water pressure against the drill hole wall. The expansion of the bolt creates a friction and interlocking anchor. There is immediate full length support for faster excavation, no waiting for grouting to set and no chemicals needed, only water.
                                              

                                              After drilling the hole, installation of expandable rock bolts requires water pump to expand the bolt into the shape of the hole to create instant support. Installation is flexible to variations in drill hole diameter and other irregularities. Installation is clean and easy. There is no grouting or chemicals needed, which results in environmentally friendly installation.

                                              SSAB’s expandable rock bolts consist of folded steel tube with upper bushing and inflation bushing welded at each end of the tube. Connector enables deep hole rock reinforcement. 
                                              Face plate can be delivered as option.
                                              ERB requires extremely good elongation i.e. formability performance of the bolt. This enables fast and reliable reinforcement method, which is demanded as the safety requirements increase.

                                              SSAB guarantees minimum breaking strengths and elongation levels for all expandable rock bolts. With SSAB ERB+ series, SSAB is a leading manufacturer of expandable rock bolts with elongation A5 ~ 30 %.
                                              SSAB’s expandable rock bolts are available in two types, called SSAB ERB and SSAB ERB+ series. Each series includes products with three load capacity variants: ERB 120 with a load capacity of 12 mt, ERB 160 with a load capacity of 16 mt and ERB 240 with load capacity of 24 mt. Elongation characteristics is the main difference between the series: cold formed series SSAB ERB have elongation A5 ~ 15 % and cold formed and normalized series SSAB ERB+ have extraordinary elongation A5 ~ 30 %. SSAB ERB+ series has better capacity to follow rock deformation.
                                              Products are available within the length range of 1 - 6 meters.
